Keen to contribute to creating a better world, I decided to create India Sampatti when I learned that in India the traditional weaving sector was disappearing in favor of industrial textiles.
Now, in India there are no less than 136 different ways of weaving, and I'm not even talking about the methods of printing and dyeing the fabric. Contributing to preserving this extraordinarily rich heritage, giving men and women the opportunity to continue working to offer the world their talents and know-how with unique, beautiful and quality products seemed obvious to me.
Supporting craftsmanship also means promoting ecological choices: traditional craftsmanship is also an art of living where people strive to live in harmony with the environment.
My belief is that the objects we surround ourselves with should not only be pleasant to look at, they should be intrinsically beautiful and enrich the lives of those who acquire them by contributing to creating a world that is more respectful of people and nature.
