Keen to contribute to creating a better world, I decided to create India Sampatti when I learned that in India the traditional weaving sector was disappearing in favor of industrial textiles.
Now, there are no less than 136 different ways of weaving in India, and I'm not even talking about the methods of printing and dyeing the fabric. Contributing to preserving this extraordinarily rich heritage, giving men and women the opportunity to continue working to offer the world their talents and know-how with unique, beautiful and quality products seemed obvious to me.
Supporting craftsmanship also means promoting ecological choices: traditional craftsmanship is also an art of living where people strive to live in harmony with the environment.
While the origin of India Sampatti comes from my love of India and its textiles, my reflection on the broader need to preserve traditional industries has allowed me to broaden my vision. India is obviously not the only country for which crafts are of cultural, economic and social importance.
My belief is that the objects we surround ourselves with should not only be pleasant to look at, they should be intrinsically beautiful and enrich the lives of those who acquire them by contributing to creating a world that is more respectful of people and nature.
With this shop, I am committed to offering you all these treasures of a craft that resists industrialization; I choose my suppliers according to the products but also and above all according to the human and eco-responsible dimension that they demonstrate.
I am keen to integrate an ethical dimension into my business. For you, I am looking for beautiful products whose authenticity goes hand in hand with humanity, nature, tradition and know-how.
